Dot Abyss Items & Equipment Guide
The hack-and-slash half of Dot Abyss lives in its loot. Idle exploration showers you with randomly rolled equipment and materials, and knowing what to keep, what to feed and what to chase separates efficient commanders from cluttered inventories.

How to Get Equipment & Loot
Every character carries equipment that drops from exploration and defense battles. Gear follows classic hack-and-slash rules — random rolls, rarity tiers, and stance-specific stat priorities.
- Random stat rolls. Two drops of the same item can roll different stats — that is the hack-and-slash hook. "Equipment selection" (装備厳選) means re-farming until the rolls suit the wearer.
- Rarity tiers. Higher-rarity gear has more and stronger stat lines. Deeper Abyss floors raise both drop rarity and roll ceilings.
- Match stats to stance. Front-liners want HP, defense and resistances (burn, freeze, petrify, paralysis, charm and drain); Back attackers want attack and crit lines; Assists scale with whatever their kit amplifies.
- Equipment also drops from defense battles alongside exploration idle hauls.
- See the Deep Abyss guide for how floor depth affects drop tables.

How to Play Equipment & Loot
Idle exploration is your primary farm. Characters keep fighting while the app is closed and bank loot for collection — treat it like a background dungeon run.
- Push depth first. Loot quality scales with the floor; clearing one extra floor permanently raises every future idle haul.
- Collect at least twice a day. Reward storage has a cap — full storage is wasted farming time.
- Use a dedicated farm squad. Exploration does not need your absolute best defense team; rotate leveled side units so your mains stay free for events.
- Re-farm with purpose. Chase specific slots (your main DPS's weapon, your tank's armor) instead of vaguely farming everything.
- Pair farming with Tavern shifts — potential awakening often beats several levels of raw stats.

How to Find Equipment & Loot in the Game
Currencies and materials scatter across missions, exploration, events and the present box. Know where each resource lives so you spend it in the right order.
- Inventory and equipment screens open from the Frontline Base character menus.
- Event currencies appear in the news panel and event shop — check before they expire.
| Resource | Source | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Abyss Gems | Pre-registration (12,000+), missions, login bonuses, milestones | Gacha pulls — the premium currency. Avoid spending on refreshes. |
| Gacha tickets | Login bonuses, events, beginner missions | Premium and SSR-guaranteed banners; day-2 login gives an SSR ticket. |
| Select SSR shards | Campaigns and milestones | The Select SSR Gacha (same 12-unit pool as the tutorial redraw). |
| Training materials | Idle exploration, daily missions | Leveling your focused 5-unit core. |
| Bond gifts | Exploration, events, shop | Raising bond on your main team for stat bonuses and stories. |

How to Protect Your Equipment & Loot
A cluttered inventory leads to accidental feeding and lost keepers. Protect your best rolls and event resources before bulk actions.
- Lock keepers immediately. Anything equipped or destined for an alt build should be protected before bulk-feeding.
- Feed duplicates, not sidegrades. A wrong-stat rare can still serve a different stance line later.
- Check resistance lines before bosses. A cheap gear swap that counters a Calamity's freeze or charm can save a failed defense.
- Do not hoard event items. Launch campaign currencies usually expire with their event — spend them in the event shop.
- Link your account after settling your start — see the account transfer guide.
05
How to Complete Equipment & Loot
Materials are the bottleneck in week one. Spend them in this order to clear the most content with the fewest wasted upgrades.
- Your main DPS first — one overpowered Back attacker (Vira, Electra or Nina) clears more content than five average units.
- Your front-line tank second — defense waves fail when the front folds; Wendy or Hymena armor investment pays for itself.
- Skill unlocks via the Tavern — Tavern work that awakens a character's potential is often a bigger jump than several levels.
- Equipment enhancement last — early gear gets replaced quickly; enhance properly only once drops stabilize at your wall floor.
06
How to Beat / Optimize Equipment & Loot
Long-term optimization means farming with intent, not hoarding everything. These habits keep your inventory lean and your defense waves stable.
- Farm one gear slot at a time until rolls are good enough — vague full-inventory farming dilutes your odds.
- Run exploration on a secondary squad so event and defense teams stay fresh.
- Swap resistance gear before Calamity waves instead of over-leveling to brute-force bad matchups.
- Spend event currencies in the event shop the week they drop — they rarely carry over.
- Re-check equipment after Tavern potential awakening; new skills can change which stats matter most.
